Email Designer

Location: Raleigh, NC or Remote / Full-Time

The Email Designer is responsible for creating visually compelling, high-performing email designs that reflect each client’s brand identity and deliver exceptional user experience. This role ensures that every design aligns with visual standards, resonates with the target audience, and supports performance goals. The Email Designer collaborates closely with Strategists, Developers, and Marketing Automation Specialists to translate concepts into user-centric layouts that render flawlessly across devices. They bring the intersection of brand expression, usability, and engagement to life through design.

Essential Functions:

• Design email layouts that reflect each client’s visual identity and brand standards.
• Ensure all visual elements—including typography, color, spacing, and imagery—are consistent and on-brand.
• Create designs that resonate with each target audience and support campaign goals.
• Collaborate with Strategists to translate creative direction and messaging objectives into effective visual executions.
• Partner with Email Developers to ensure designs translate accurately into code and render across platforms.
• Maintain design systems, reusable components, and visual guidelines for email templates.
• Ensure all designs support strong UX principles including readability, hierarchy, clarity, and ease of engagement.
• Optimize layout for mobile-first presentation and multi-device responsiveness.
• Incorporate best practices for CTAs, spacing, scannability, and accessibility.
• Participate in A/B testing efforts by designing visual variations that drive higher engagement and performance.

• Knowledge of UX best practices as they relate to email layout, readability, and conversion.
• Skilled in designing responsiveness and cross-platform rendering.
• Collaborates well with strategists, copywriters, and developers to bring concepts to life.
• Detail-oriented with a strong eye for typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
• Understands how design influences engagement, segmentation, and conversions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Proficient in Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design tools.
• Take initiative in improving design systems and workflow efficiency.

Desired Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, digital design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–4 years of experience designing for email, digital marketing, or lifecycle communications.
• Experience developing email creatives for eCommerce, DTC, or performance-based campaigns is preferred.
• Familiarity with accessible design and responsive layout principles.
• Experience collaborating with email strategists, developers and marketing teams on campaign execution.
