Director of Strategy - Digital Marketing

Location: Raleigh, NC / Full-Time
Reports to: Founder CEO

Summary:

The Director of Strategy (Digital Marketing) is responsible for driving E-Commerce & Digital Marketing growth strategies for Green Brick Group. These strategies will be used to service and achieve the overall business growth objectives of Green Brick Group and its clients. This leader will serve in a hands-on customer facing capacity that guides each our clients on how to achieve their full potential. This role maintains strong relationships across all supporting business units at Green Brick Group and with the clients we serve. The goal is to ensure all customers receive a premium experience while we share and implement our standards for growth and teamwork.
The Director of Strategy is skilled at building and leading teams, has a vision to enhance the current state of any business, and possesses the analytical skills required to scale revenue, profit, and active customers. This person understands creative positioning, the value of brand, possesses a great attitude, and demonstrates strong communication skills.

Essential Functions:

Set the vision and develop repeatable Digital Strategy offerings from Green Brick that allow customers to achieve their growth goals.  

Teach, develop, lead, and grow the Digital Strategy and Marketing teams both

internally and with the clients we serve.  

Establish targets and reporting to be used with clients for digital media performance,

customer retention, file growth, brand awareness, and conversion rate optimization.

Ensure our clients Systems Architecture is sound and scalable for the next 3 plus

years.

Set strategic priorities with internal and client teams while leading a disciplined

process to ensure each team member is setup to successfully execute on these priorities.

Partner with key business units (such as Creative Design, Product Design, Inventory

Planning, Data Insights, IT, Distribution Center Operations, and Finance) to ensure every touchpoint of the Digital customer journey is world class.

Work closely with clients to ensure that their creative assets adhere to their brand standards from a visual and copy perspective across all digital assets. 

Develop strategies to grow our clients’ digital businesses through customer acquisition, traffic generation, file growth, site conversion, and customer retention improvements.

Identify emerging technologies & marketing channels that can be implemented to

increase online sales and profits.

Establish a mindset with internal and external leaders that embodies the Green Brick culture ensuring everyone is bought in to working together toward the common goal.

Identify and implement processes and disciplines that allow client team members to

thrive and shine in their roles.

Establish budgets for your business with achievable yet challenging growth targets.
Work closely with the CEO and other executive leaders to ensure the culture and

brand of Green Brick Group is adhered to, maintained, and evolving appropriately.

Competencies:

• Holds a track record of driving revenue matched with experience managing to a P&L.
• Understands the building blocks to run and grow a healthy E-Commerce Business.
•Has the ability to establish a vision for what an E-Commerce business should look like in 2-5 years, can effectively communicate that vision, and execute a plan to bring it to life.
• Exhibits a strong understanding of site operations including A/B Testing, product loads, site merchandising and how this impacts the end user & our business across all devices.
• Has the ability to guide the team on how to effectively develop strategies across the digital media landscape of awareness media, acquisition media, and retention media.
• Possesses the knowledge of where to spend the next dollar and why.
• Has managed at least a $20M online marketing budget.
• Holds the technical aptitude to outline the systems architecture needed to grow a Digital Business paired with the ability to lead complex projects from start to finish.
• Makes thoughtful decisions considering both the short-term and long-term impact to the brand and commercial health of the business.
• Displays a strong understanding of User Experience Design and usability best practices.
• Has a keen understanding of database marketing with the ability to guide teams on how to structure appropriate personalized experiences for active and prospective customers.
• Displays excellent communication skills with partners, peers, customers, & executives.
• Demonstrates the ability to unite and lead a team toward a common goal.
• Has the ability to source & manage vendors, and effectively negotiate solid contracts.
• Can work effectively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
• Exhibits great problem-solving skills, creativity, and resourcefulness.
• Possesses excellent project management skills simplifying complexities with project plans to ensure that initiatives are launched on time and at a high standard.
• Demonstrates to ability to create business cases and achieve the expected outcomes.

Desired Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of Ecommerce or Strategic Digital Growth leadership experience.
• 2-5 years of experience leading teams.
• Customer facing experience is strongly preferred.
